How Does Bollywood Impact Indian Lifestyle?

Cinema is said to be the mirror of society but it itself is quite influential and has deep impact on the minds of the viewers. We follow movies ardently and even carry them into our lives using services like Bollywood mobile sites and widgets on our cell phones. There are several things that we take from movies and make them a part of our lifestyles, knowingly or unknowingly.

Lots of people use a particular brand of soap, shampoo, car, mobile or clothes just because their favourite Bollywood actors advertise them. And this is not the only way Bollywood impacts us. We even like to copy the stars' fashion statements and styles from their popular movies. And these are just a few of the many visible or invisible influences that Bollywood has on our lives.

Movies like Babul raising issues of widow-remarriage or those like Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham reasserting Indian cultural values of respect for parents' views, tend to make us wonder whether Bollywood is merely about entertainment. Rang De Basanti brought forth the very sticky and political issue of MIG crashes that was pushed into oblivion. It was only after the movie that people started demanding accountability.

There are several medium budget movies, especially from the new generation directors like Madhur Bhandarkar and Prakash Mehra, which call for rethinking of the lives around us. They not only force us to question the establishment but also make us aware of our rights and obligations, which generally remain unnoticed, even despite government awareness programs. The movies have also acted as eye openers for public by bringing forth socio-political issues, for instance in movies like Rann, Gulaal and Corporate.

The new wave of Indian cinema has more arduously started experimenting with new subject matters that are closer to our lives. So, if your son has come back after watching 3 Idiots and has decided that he does not want to be an engineer anymore, you will understand how this age of bollywood mobile is getting into your lives for real.

Indian Bollywood

It has been extremely difficult to lead a healthy life in this contaminated world. There are many menaces that come to the world time to time to us. Though, the world has not faced any doomsday so far, yet the vulnerability seems to be imminent. Only God can foretell as to the doomsday of the world. Having listened life threatening story everyone gets frightened that leads our life towards cardiac arrest, hypertension and many other ailments which are not easily diagnosable. However, we can have both mental and physical well being by dint of media and entertainment. Bollywood is one of the great sources of entertainment that helps to release our stress in our day to day life.

The stress can be released in many ways such as: watching movies, listening horoscopes, going restaurants and ultimately going a holiday. However, Bollywood movies have a significant role in releasing stress. Basically, both the Hollywood and Bollywood movies, TV serials have a great power to make one vicarious. Vicariousness makes one emotionally stronger and offers capacity to face the negative trends of life. The movies are the only sources that have the power to make one a politician, doctor, engineer and scientist etc. So to speak, it is an imaginary world.

Currently, the Bollywood movies have been widely popular due to access of the internet, television and FM radio in every part of India. The people starting from rich to poor are able to buy a television for home entertainment. There are more advantages after the arrival of digital TV to the people. Digital TV is also affordable for all kind of people since it has been cheaper due to sharp competition in the market. The monthly cost of cable connection has reduced drastically due to the presence of the digital TV in the market. The new movies is being watched just after some days of release of the new Bollywood movies.

Some movies can be watched easily by paying the amount to the company of digital TV. They can offer you blockbuster movies with affordable price. In these days the Bollywood movies has taken the shape of Hollywood to some extent. The thriller movies and stunts movies have been very popular during last five years. The Bollywood movie 'Kambakkth Ishq' was excellent by the lead role Akshay Kumar and the thriller movie 'Aa Dekhen Zara' also was very good by Niel Nitin Mukesh. Unfortunately, the strike in multiplexes have not been able to offer huge business 'Aa Dekhen Zara'. However, the news and reviews say it was a good movie.

Meanwhile, many movies have been very popular due to the role done by Amitabh in Paa, Amir in 3 idiots those were exellent. Even the Bollywood movie 3 idiots made a business of astronomical amount. Another movie 'My name is Khan' is excellent in terms business as it touched 150 crores within just 10days. Amitabh is still active and confident enough to work until he is eighty years of old.

Lady Gaga Cover's Vanity Fair - The Perfect Shade of Grey

It looks like it will be raining shades of Grey this fall. Whether it's matte / shiny or shimmery, Grey is the subject of gossip all around! Leading this whirlwind storm of grey is none other than the icon of outrageously fabulous style: Lady Gaga! Not only is she busy headlining her Monster Ball 2010 concert tour, she's headlining fashion news everywhere with her September issue of Vanity Fair cover where she channels another powerful revolutionary-Lady Godiva-by wearing nothing but a gorgeous head of silvery grey locks and rockin' a spectacular matching shade of nail lacquer.

Not surprisingly, this lacquer has already sold out before the magazine has even hit the shelves! Wonderfully dubbed "Waking Up In Vegas", this lacquer is a greige crème that hits all the right notes. Some even say it is the symbolic colour of New York. It's chic, urban, edgy, and high-fashion, an eerily perfect description of Lady Gaga herself don't you think?

The brainchild behind this famous concoction? Deborah Lippman, who's also the creator of "Bad Romance" (read the review by All Lacquered Up.com) -a rich, sparkly, and glamorous deep purple shade named after Lady Gaga's popular song.

Not only did Deborah create the trend-setting grey seen on Gaga's nails as the icon strikes an alluring pose topped off with a peace sign with her hand on the oh-so-popular Vanity Fair cover, she also had the honour of painting Lady Gaga's nails for the shoot.

Can we say we're jealous?

Deborah Lippmann Waking Up In Vegas nail lacquer Lady Gaga

Not only do I love her music, but I love Lady Gaga's courage to be an individual. She takes risks on artistically representing herself to the World. Perhaps a bit of a non-conformist, but don't we all have, at minimum, a little rebel inside? I think it's because of this fearless attitude to wake up every morning and challenge the status quo that everyone can just focus on her as a serious performer - not just another freak show.

No matter what she does, she seems to know herself, and it is this absolute confidence that draws her fans, and one thing we all agree on: we can't get enough of Lady Gaga. She is beyond just another musician, just another star; she has the spark of wild spontaneity meets true creative talent running through her blood.

Setting trends seems to be in the DNA of Lady Gaga, and I'm excited to see what she has in store for us next!

Why is there nothing like a concert Lady Gaga

It's easy to assume that Lady Gaga tour dates aren't any different from other pop performer tours. Anyone that has seen the videos knows that she likes to dance, and she appears to like what she does for a living. These are clearly signs of a performer, but Lady Gaga tours are breathtaking.

Part of the reason that her tours are so exciting is because of the energy that she brings to the stage. People know that everything surrounding Lady Gaga is controversial. The music she sings, the videos she makes, and even the clothes that she wears can become instant gossip for entertainment news. Many people look for something spectacular to happen at her shows because of this. People look for a thrill ride and that is exactly what they get.

Lady Gaga has never declared herself to be the world's best singer, dancer, or pianist. What she has proven, however, is that she can carry a tune, shake her rump, and tickle the ivory in a way that captivates the audience over and over again. She's a full performer that is able to spice things up and give a live performance that electrifies each time that it is seen.

The outfits are always insanely skimpy, and her dance moves are risky at times. She has been known to let fans rush the stage. At other times she may be rushing into the fans by jumping off the stage. She's just so unpredictable, and this is why many people love her.

Predictability continues to go out the window at certain points in the show when her entire demeanor changes. It's amazing to see the same wild flower that is blossoming on stage turn into a beautiful rose as she slows things down. She continues to own the stage, but she definitely brings her high energy dancing down several notches when she graces the piano.

Fans are so high strung by the opening performance that they may forget that she has skills on the piano. On any given night of the tour crowds can catch a glimpse of the brief but serene alter ego of Lady Gaga performing Poker Face on piano. She may even slip into a jazz rendition of the song just to show her range. One cannot help but to be somewhat mesmerized by the many faces of Gaga.

It doesn't take long, however, for her to slip back into another abstract outfit and get back in step with another dance routine for her next number. It's amazing to see the progression throughout the show. It's even more amazing to consider all of the shows within the Lady Gaga tour dates. She's a hard working entertainment machine.

Lady GaGa - Bad Romance - The Hidden Meanings

The visual concept of Lady GaGa's music video to her number one single Bad Romance shows her being auctioned off to the highest bidder, each of the people bidding are representations for record labels. Therefore, she is being auctioned off to the record company that wants to sign her onto their label, it is visualised by GaGa undressing in front of these people and appearing to be sold as a sex slave. This idea is extended when GaGa charms one of the men into "buying" her, and then proceeds to have sex with the highest bidder.

So, the whole video can be interpreted as a metaphor for the music industry and how they manipulate their artists. The video itself shows each step GaGa has to go through to become a famous star. This includes business deals, manipulation and the idea of dark forces. So whilst the song Bad Romance is initially about the simple idea of loving someone for who they and everything about them good and bad, it is also about the "bad romance" and relationship artists have with the music industry.

However, whilst the video follows this fairly simplistic "narrative" other elements and symbols are included throughout the video. The references to the devil and anti-Christianity are fairly frequent and obvious. The first reference to this is the use of the cross and the word "Monster" written underneath; another is the image of the cross on GaGa's underwear and finally, the phallic symbol of the triangle that is visually drawn during a dancing scene. Along with this, there are plenty of references to the sun including a gold dress worn by GaGa, the golden sunlight streaming into the room and the orbital outfit worn near the end of the video.

Therefore, the whole video is full of meaning and symbolic references to different things. All of this points towards the fact that the video whilst showing the bad and dark side to relationships also represents the dark forces in industry.

Taylor Swift: She Defines the Term "Superstar"

taylor

Taylor Swift hit the country and pop scene in a big way in 2006. In four short years, she has accomplished more than most people can ever dream of. Her debut album, Taylor Swift, produced five hit singles. In her first years of celebrity she received awards for Songwriter of the Year (the youngest artist ever to earn the award), Billboard Artist of the Year, Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year, and Breakthrough Video of the Year. In 2008, she sold more albums than any other musician in the United States. And, although her acting debut in Valentine's Day was less than stellar, Taylor showed that she is not afraid to tackle new challenges.

It would be easy to assume that Taylor is a superficial product of the entertainment industry-no different from other coddled stars-but she has already shown a strong philanthropic bent. After Nashville was devastated by lethal storms and floods, she donated $500,000 its relief. Appearing on Flood Relief with Vince Gill and Friends, Taylor said, "... I honestly could not believe what was happening to the city and the people I love so dearly.... Nashville is my home, and the reason I get to do what I love."

Where did this superstar get her start? Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. She started developing her singing and songwriting chops when she was ten when a computer repairman taught her three guitar chords. This led to her writing her first song, "Lucky You." Writing was a good outlet for her, as she did not fit in at school and was, therefore, homeschooled until she graduated at age eighteen.

Like her main musical influence, Shania Twain, she did not limit herself to one genre. Instead, she developed her crossover appeal in the worlds of both country and pop music where many strong females (e.g., her grandmother (a professional opera singer), Shania Twain, Tina Turner, and Dolly Parton) guided her on her journey to stardom.

A talented singer, Taylor got the opportunity to sing The National Anthem at the U.S. Tennis Open when she was eleven. In 2003, her family relocated to Nashville, and that same year she was hired as Sony/ATV's the youngest staff songwriter ever. In 2006, she released her first hit single, "Tim McGraw," which rose to #6 on Billboard's "Hot Country Songs" chart.

On the heels of "Tim McGraw," Taylor released her first album, Taylor Swift. It hit #1 on Billboard's Country charts and featured five hits: "Tim McGraw" (6), "Teardrops on my Guitar" (2), "Our Song" (1), "Picture to Burn" (3), and "Should've Said No" (1). That same year, Taylor released an extended play album, Beautiful Eyes, that debuted at #1 on the Country charts, making her the first artist since 1997 to hold the top two positions on the Billboard Country charts.

In 2008, Swift released Fearless, one of that year's most successful albums. Its best-selling single, "Love Story," Taylor's signature song, is the first crossover recording to hit Nielsen's Top 40 in that chart's 16-year history and to also hit #1 on the Mediabase Top 40 chart. Her award-winning video for "Love Story," based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, was a special "extra" on Fearless. But the best recognition of Swift's prowess as a recording artist, "Love Story" is the most downloaded country music song ever, and Fearless won Best Album of the Year for Swift as both performer and producer.

Taylor Swift's talents are profound. She has made an indelible mark on the music world and will surely, as Shania Twain and other great artists did for her, become the idol of tomorrow's superstars.

When Did Beyonce Become Famous?

Beyonce

When Did Beyonce Become Famous is a question of much debate? Did she become famous performing as part of a group known as Destiny's Child or did she achieve more fame as an individual artist? She has achieved stardom both as a group and as an individual artist. But many would claim that she found her true calling as an individual artist and is it where her talent came to the fore completely.

In Destiny's Child she was their lead singer and a lot of her group's success depended on her vocal chords. When she did decide to sing individually she made that transformation seem so easy and scripted one of the biggest success stories ever. Her album Dangerously in Love was one of the biggest hit of all time with hits like Crazy in Love and Baby Boy riding the crest of popularity and remaining on the bestsellers chart for a long time.

The album which achieved the rare distinction of been both a commercial and critical success went on to win five Grammy awards. It is one of the best success stories ever crafted by a singer breaking away from a group. Many fade away from an initial success but Beyonce just built on her success story further by delivering one more hit album Birthday. The album like its predecessor also achieved great success. She is one of the most successful artists of the decade and has more than 12 top ten hits and 5 number one hits to her distinction. Beyonce also has the distinction of been the artist at the number one spot for the most consecutive weeks of 37 in this decade.

Her popularity and fame has made Forbes list her at number four of the most powerful entertainers of this decade. With her career in films also slated to hit the big time the year of Beyonce Knowles has just started and the debate about When Did Beyonce Become Famous will be debated again and again.

The Story and Roots of Reggaeton Music

Although today it's one of the hottest styles of music around these days, the story of reggaeton music goes way back to a variety of music genres. These genres range from reggae and dancehall to Latin American styles including bomba, bachata and salsa. It has also been influenced greatly by rap/hip-hop and R & B.

The style of reggaeton dates back to the country of Panama in the 1970s. At that time, Jamaican reggae started to influence the language and culture of the nation. These early artists gave the Jamaican style a distinctive latin-sounding beat. Meanwhile, Puerto Rico in the 1980s was a site of a related movement. A group of hip hop artists lead by Vico C began to combine reggae into their songs. Caribbean and African-American music was becoming a significant influence in the country during that time. Over the next few years, this trend would radically grow. It wasn't too long until a new genre was formed: a combination of the Panamanian-influenced reggae, but with a strong influence of electronic music. The traditional Latin American sounds mentioned previously were also a key factor to this emerging musical style.

Then, in 1991, the musician Shabba Ranks came up with a song called Dem Bow. Although it wasn't clear at the time, this song would come to have a major influence on the development of the genre. You still here it today to refer to the pounding snare-drum heavy sound that is characteristic of reggaeton. A couple of years later, the name reggaeton was used for the first time, new artists began to make it extremely popular in several Latin American countries.

A second wave of reggaeton artists were responsible for breaking into the market of the USA. Once they did, it did not take long to achieve widespread popularity. Today popular artists including Wisin y Yandel, Don Omar, Rakim y Ken-y, Daddy Yankee and many more have topped the charts and cemented reggaeton's reputation as an incredibly popular fusion genre that's here to stay.

American Idol - Awkward Nick Fink

Contestants Nick Fink and Jaqueline Dunford may not be a couple much longer after the debacle Nick pulled in the Hollywood auditions. OK so Jaqueline and Nick do everything together and love to sing together. They even ran this love bird video on them during their first audition.

Well the harsh realities of the Hollywood auditions had them in different lines, one leaving and one moving on in the competition. Nick was voted off and Jaqueline sent through to the next round. Now I thought that Nick should have gone through. So did Nick. As a result he gave Idol the 2 most awkward moments so far of the 2011 season. Before leaving the stage he begged for another shot claiming that he finished his audition strong and was ready to rock. Randy of course said no way. After all, if Nick gets a second shot so should everyone else, right? Nick began belting out some tunes and voicing his dissapointment. Only briefly did he ever indicate any happiness for Jaqueline and her success. He continued while he was exiting the auditorium to sing at the judges table until Randy Jackson finally said something and he left following behind Jaqueline. Outside he again never to my recollection showed any excitement about Jaqueline going through. This girl who should be celebrating was brought down by her boyfriends selfishness.

Jaqueline I have a little advice, your moving on, so move on and congrats. Nick some advice for you. Give her some encouragement. Be happy for her. She got a good break. Let her enjoy it with you if you really care about her that is.

Justin Timberlake - Renaissance Man

Whenever someone mentions Justin Timberlake one has to wonder if they are referring to Justin the singer, the actor, the clothing designer, the producer, the writer, the golfer or perhaps they are referring to Justin the philanthropist. Justin wears many, many hats and as we all know, he wears them very well.

So just what has this multi-faceted young man been up to lately? First let's get to the Oscar buzz. Oscar you say? Yep, Justin's name is being bantered about as a contender for supporting actor nominee for his role as Napster co-founder, Sean Parker. Justin has cut his acting chops on several forgettable movies, but "The Social Network "looks like it might be Timberlake's introduction to bigger and better roles. Be on the lookout for JT to develop into one of the better actors of his generation.

When he is not acting, Justin Timberlake has been working with his longtime friend, Trace Ayala on their clothing line. The hip, urban line of clothing and accessories will hit Target stores this December. JT's label, Wiliam Rast, has been selling really well at other
locations such as Neiman's and Bergdorf's. Not too shabby for a former Mouseketeer.

So what does Justin do in his spare time? He is usually raising money for some of his favorite charities, especially the Shriner's Children's Hospitals. As a matter of fact he will be hosting an upcoming golf tournament to generate funds for this wonderful organization. In the past JT has been one of their biggest contributors, and continues to help out whenever his busy schedule allows.

Unlike many performers, Justin thrives just as gloriously backstage as he does standing behind the microphone. He has co-written songs with many of his peers and has produced some of pop's best music in recent years.

In case you haven't noticed Timberlake is the real deal. He is no "flash in the pan," no "one hit wonder." He is continuing to lay the groundwork for a career that will span decades. If you don't care for his music, then check out his movies, don't like the movies, support his charities. I can tell you this, whatever you do, you can count on hearing his name for a long, long time.

The Story Behind Hold My Hand by Akon and Michael Jackson

The Senegalese-American singer-songwriter Akon have a duet with the American recording artist Michael Jackson with a song Hold my Hand.

This song was originally recorded by Jackson in 2008 as set to be released as the first single from Akon's 2008 album, Freedom. Akon finished production on the song after Jackson's death in 2009 and finished recording his own vocals for the song in 2010.

The song is simply about friendship, family, togetherness and the world unite as one,the song tells us that we need to reach out, embrace one another and give love is to receive love and we must find it within ourselves because we don't know what future will have.

Jackson have a letter to Akon that indicate he wants the song to be the first single of Akon's next project. But this song was first recorded by Jackson and Akon last 2008 but the song was finished and record it by Akon in the year 2010.

Hold my Hand was released and became incredible, beautiful and anthemic song because of Akon's willingness to share the song to everybody despite of the issues regarding the leaked out in 2008 and pulled from Akon's track listing for his 2008 album.

I'm sure all of the fans of Akon was so proud of him because he got the chance to work with Michael Jackson and I consider this a highlight of his career.

The hold my hand single gained a lot of negative reviews as much as it gained a lot of positive reviews. Some say that Akon failed to incorporate Micheal's personality and character, especially in the video. They say that the song is very Akon like and Michael's direction of his art in music and films were never seen.

I don't think that Akon did not give justice to the song, Akon give his best in this song. It is impossible that we can see the whole work of art of Michael Jackson's in this music video as he is not able to interfere and direct anymore, but the people behind this single did there very best to make it more beautiful and successful. And make it sure that this song will treat to all the fans of Michael Jackson and spread the message of the song.

Let's stop the controversy and lets just spread the message of this song. If only Michael Jackson is still alive im sure he is glad that his song was preserved well.

From Panama to the Top of the Charts: The Story and Roots of Reggaeton Music

Facebook and Warner Bros. start streaming partnership with 'The Dark Knight'; How's it measure up to Amazon, Hulu, and Netflix?

Today, Warner Bros. announced a potentially landmark deal to stream complete films through Facebook, kicking off the plan with The Dark Knight. Facebook users pay $3, or “30 Facebook Credits,” to rent the film for 48 hours, and you watch it on Facebook. Warner Bros. is promising an interactive movie experience. How does streaming a film on the social network compare to your other online streaming options? We checked out The Dark Knight on Facebook and compared it to Amazon, Hulu, and, of course, Netflix, and asked a question: Are any of these streaming options better than just paying for the films on iTunes?

Amazon:
Cost: Renting runs between $2.99 and $3.99, and you can buy a movie for $9.99. Alternately, you can pay $79 a year for Amazon Prime, which gives you access to a slightly more limited selection of movies.

Movie Selection: If you’re willing to pay full price, Amazon’s complete library is very extensive. The Prime membership only covers about 1700 films (along with several TV shows).
Better/Worse Than iTunes? The films cost a bit less on Amazon, but they’re also slightly lower quality, so it’s a split decision.

Hulu Plus
Cost: $7.99 a month
Selection: Hulu’s film selection was terrible…until the website announced a partnership with film-geek-heroes the Criterion Collection. Pre-Criterion? Some good documentaries and Flyboys. Post-Criterion? Classics like Modern Times and Paris,Texas, cult curios like The Exterminating Angel and Hausu, and 146 other Criterion-approved titles. (Admittedly, an inordinate number of those titles are from the Zatoichi series.)

Better/Worse Than iTunes? Many of the Criterion movies aren’t on iTunes, so even though Hulu Plus still isn’t an ideal subscription system — on TV shows, you’ll still be forced to undergo commercials — it’s worth considering. Unless you factor in that quite a few of the Criterion movies are currently streaming on…

Netflix:
Cost: $7.99
Movie Selection: Very good — the streaming library is pretty extensive, and covers a broad swath of film history (which is more than can be said for the recent-leaning Amazon). It’s possible to quibble — what, Fellowship of the Ring but no Two Towers? But considering that it’s only $2 more per month to receive one DVD at a time, this is still the best bang for your buck.

Better/Worse Than iTunes? Here’s where we get existential. If you absolutely feel the need to own movies, iTunes is unquestionably the best bet. But if you’re okay with just watching a movie, then Netflix is your best bet for high-quality streaming video.
Warner Bros. on Facebook:
Cost: 30 Facebook Credits, or $3, to rent a movie for 48 hours.
Movie Selection: Only The Dark Knight so far, but there’s a potential for Warner Bros. to explore its entire library.
Better/Worse Than iTunes? It costs the same as renting a movie on iTunes, and since the audio-visual quality on the Facebook video isn’t great at this point, you should maybe save those Facebook credits for Farmville or whatever. Still, there’s something undeniably appealing about the service, so we’ll consider checking back a couple upgrades from now.

'Tomb Raider': Who should be the new Lara Croft?

It’s easy to be cynical about the just-announced reboot of the Tomb Raider film franchise. Angelina Jolie’s turn as skimpily-dressed treasure hunter Lara Croft was incredibly iconic — it’s a big reason why she’s basically the only go-to action heroine left in Hollywood — and it’s hard to imagine a younger actress stepping into the role. Still, it’s worth pointing out that neither of the original Lara Croft films were all that great. And considering that, Sucker Punch excepted, female-driven action movies are few and far between, a Tomb Raider reboot could actually be a great way to kickstart the career of the next great female action star. But who should play Lara Croft? Mila Kunis seems like an obvious choice. (She even played a younger Jolie in Gia.) Olivia Wilde and Scarlett Johansson have both had some action-film success. My personal pick would be Gemma Arterton — hey, why not cast someone who’s actually British this time? Vote for the next Lara Croft in our poll after the jump, and let us know in the comment boards if we missed your personal pick.

Phil Collins announces he is quitting music, reveals darker side

Music legend Phil Collins has announced his retirement from music.
The 60-year old former front man of the seminal ‘70s rock band Genesis tells FHM that it is “a good time to stop,” morosely noting, “I don’t think that anyone’s going to miss me.”
The downtrodden drummer, who has sold over 150 million records, doesn’t think that there’s a place for him in the modern music scene. "I look at the MTV Music Awards and I think: 'I can't be in the same business as this'," explains Collins. "I don't really belong to that world and I don't think anyone's going to miss me. I'm much happier just to write myself out of the script entirely.”
Collins also believes that fans have grown “sick” of him after decades of constant airplay of hits like “Sussuido” and “One More Night.”
"It's hardly surprising that people grew to hate me,” says Collins. “I'm sorry that it was all so successful. I honestly didn't mean it to happen like that."
Collins added that the heavy rotation of his seven #1 singles made people “want to strangle” him.
The singer, who has suffered from a series of medical maladies including hearing loss, a dislocated vertebra and nerve damage, has even contemplated suicide.
"I wouldn't blow my head off," he told Rolling Stone last year. "I'd overdose or do something that didn't hurt.”
Collins’s nerve damage prevents him from playing the drums. Instead, he spends time with his two young sons, Nicholas and Matthew. "I'm not worried about not being able to play the drums again, I'm more worried about being able to cut a loaf of bread safely or building things for my kids."
Doctors have given Collins a year to recover, but the star has made peace with fading away from the limelight.
"I'll go on a mysterious biking holiday and never return. That would be a great way to end the story, wouldn't it?"

"Arnold Schwarzenegger decreed 'I’ll be back!' in his most famous movie line. But not even Arnold could have imagined that his return would be in the form now on display at the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Orlando Odditorium," reads this release from Ripley's Believe It or Not (via Movieline). Nor should he have imagined his return would be in this form, because it's really insane.

Artist Enrique Ramos--a man also credited for giving us "Elvis created from dozens of smaller portraits of Elvis" and "Princess Diana painted on ants"--has assembled a variety of media (including "a real vampire bat!") into a tribute to film history, which just so happens to have taken the form of a live-size Terminator covered in what looks like the icing surfaces of a supermarket's movie-themed birthday cakes. BELIEVE IT OR NOT. You should look at these detail shots before deciding, though. It's like the IMDb meets schizophrenia.
Schwarzenegger's face, honoring the faces of Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts, and Jimmy Neutron:

Visual representation of the moment the artist transitioned from careful handcrafting to, "fuck it, I'll just print out the Shrek logo and paste it on there."

Maybe I'm just not yet evolved enough to process this. I choose not to believe it.
