Those in the tourism industry hope a Korean reality television show filmed in Hawaii can attract more visitors to the state.
Korean soap opera station KBS is filming "Challenger," a reality game show at locations on Oahu and the Big Island.
Toby Tamaye, president of Asia consulting firm AT Marketing told the Honolulu Star-Advertiser in Monday's editions that the show is an opportunity to showcase Hawaii for the growing Korean market.
He says 15 percent of Korea's TV viewers are expected to tune in.
Irene Lee of Hawaii Tourism Authority's South Korea contractor tells the newspaper reality shows are Korea's latest entertainment trend and a big draw for the show is popular actor Jung Jin-young.
The show is to air in Korea sometime between June and September.
